We are excited to welcome you to LinuxCon + CloudOpen North America 2014 in Chicago, Illinois. This year's event is being held in one of the nicest parts of Chicago - along the Chicago River between both The Magnificent Mile shopping district and the city views of Navy Pier.

Summer in Chicago is a sight to behold. The parks are lush, Lake Michigan glimmers in the hot sun and the streets bustle with locals who managed to survive a Chicago Winter. You can expect to find world-class dining, attractions, entertainment, and accommodations here in the largest and most-visited city in the Midwest.

Enjoy the great outdoors with a sightseeing tour on the river boats, a day with the animals at Lincoln Park Zoo or a scenic ride on the Ferris Wheel at Navy Pier.   • Chicago was incorporated as a city in 1837.
  • Chicago's nicknames include: The Windy City, the City of Big Shoulders, the Second City, and The City That Works.
  • In 1900, Chicago successfully completed a massive and highly innovative engineering project - reversing the flow of the Chicago River so that it emptied into the Mississippi River instead of Lake Michigan. Each year, the Chicago River is dyed green to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
