Convince Your Boss

Want to attend KVM Forum 2015, but not sure how to bring up the subject with your boss? Well, we’ve got a sample letter to help make the process easier. See you in Seattle!

“Convince Your Boss” Letter

Dear {Boss Name},

I’d like to attend KVM Forum taking place August 19-21, 2015, in Seattle. I’ve researched many conferences and KVM is an industry leading open source hypervisor that provides an ideal platform for datacenter virtualization, virtual desktop infrastructure, and cloud computing.

Over 350 of the most talented individuals in the industry gather together for this event—it’s like a pop up think tank! We’ve seen the Linux ecosystem shift and grow exponentially in recent years, and much of the work that has led to these accomplishments happened at KVM Forum.

I envision my attendance at KVM strengthening our company as it offers discussions on the current state of affairs and plan for the future of KVM, its surrounding infrastructure, and management tools.

You can learn more about the event by clicking here and view last year’s keynotes and other videos here.

There is an early bird registration price of US$475 (full price is US$575) which ends July 31. Included in the registration fee is access to all conference sessions and keynote, continental breakfast and coffee breaks as well as the opportunity to join combined reception for attendees of the KVM Forum and Xen Summit.

I would be happy to write a post-conference report detailing what I’ve learned, and recommend any changes we can implement to improve our practices.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns; I hope we can make this opportunity work.

Thanks,
