Winter Driving in Lake Tahoe
Please be advised, our conference venue is located in a mountainous region and attendees should take proper caution if driving to Lake Tahoe during inclement weather. Please check the following website for Highway 80 road conditions before driving to Resort at Squaw Creek: California Department of Transportation
In the case of a storm, the Department of Transportation may enforce chain controls on Highway 80. Should your vehicle not have 4-wheel drive and snow tires, you will be required to place chains on your car. Although there are a few places that sell chains in the mountains, it is far less expensive to purchase these before you begin your trip. You can pay to have chains installed and removed on the highway (typically $30 - $50).
