Did you know that Austin’s longest-living and most famous resident is Willie Nelson! Willie is a legend around here and still often plays at bars and other music venues around town. Getting the chance to hob knob with Willie should be enough to want to visit Austin. Just in case it's not, read on for some fun facts.

Mysteries unfold in the gardens during the fall and winter seasons!

 

See the city from Mount Bonnell
Best view in town! But first you have to climb a long, long staircase. Mount Bonnell (elevation 785 ft above sea level) is the name given in the 1830s to a peak on the ridge line overlooking the Colorado River in Austin, Texas.

 

Spend a day at the State Capitol 
Established in 1983 by the Texas 68th Legislature for the purpose of preserving, maintaining and restoring the State Capitol, the General Land Office Building, and their contents and grounds for the benefit of the citizens of Texas.
