About

The Linux Kernel Summit brings together the world’s leading core kernel developers to discuss the state of the existing kernel and plan the next development cycle.

A new, four day iteration of the summit begins in 2017 to open up sessions and workshops to a larger group of developers, and provide more focus to the invitation-only Maintainer Summit day.

Kernel Summit 2017 At-A-Glance

Tuesday, October 24 & Wednesday, October 25 - Joint Kernel Tracks with Open Source Summit Europe. Track 1 sessions will be pre-selected. Track 2 sessions will be scheduled in an unconference style.

Thursday, October 26 - Kernel Maintainer Summit

Invitation only half day meeting for key maintainers. Invitees will be chosen by committee, and key sponsor levels also receive a pass to attend.

Friday, October 27 - Subsystem Workshops

Kernel Subsystem workshops will be held, and all Kernel Summit attendees are welcome to attend.
