With 86+M users of Linux worldwide, it seems fitting that the 25th Anniversary of Linux is being celebrated in Toronto, one of the most diverse cities in the world. Over 140 languages and dialects are spoken in Toronto, a city where half the population was born outside of Canada.
With attendees from 35+ countries joining us at LinuxCon + ContainerCon, we thought it would be fun to both commemorate the Linux anniversary, our host city and the diversity of our attendees with a 'Linux Around the World' Day.
What does that mean? On Tuesday, August 23, we encourage attendees to dress in whatever this means to them - whether it be traditional dress from your native country (kilts anyone?), a retro conference tee, international attire from your travels, or anything else that appropriately commemorates the occasion and celebrates our diversity!
To encourage attendees to join in th fun, we'll be including participation in our conference Scavenger Hunt (sign up on our event app), where attendees can earn points in a variety of ways and earn the chance to win prizes. Simply visit us at our Conference Registration in the Frontenac Foyer, or one of the several Information Desks to receive the Scavenger Hunt code from conference staff.
