Diversity & Inclusion

Diversity & Inclusion

Education and collaboration are vital to the future of the OpenDaylight ecosystem, and it is imperative to us that everyone in the community that wants to participate feels welcome to do so regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, race, ethnicity, age, religion or economic status. Our code of conduct outlines our expectations for all those who participate in our community, as well as the consequences for unacceptable behavior.

Registration Discount/Scholarships

To encourage and increase the participation of a diverse community, we are pleased to offer diversity and need-based registration scholarships as well as travel funding to our conferences.

Onsite Resources

Nursing Room

We will be providing a private lactation room at this year's event to aid in the comfort and accessibility for our nursing attendees. The room will be available all days of the event and will be located onsite in convention center. For location information, please check with any registration or information desk staff onsite.

Child Care

We are offering complimentary child care onsite for all attendees this year. Please visit our Child Care page for details.

Venue Accessibility

The Meydenbauer Center and offsite evening event venues are wheelchair accessible. If you need any assistance locating an elevator or have other questions about accessibility onsite, please speak to a member of the OpenDaylight event staff, recognizable by their staff shirts/badges. You can also visit the Registration Desk located in the Center Hall Foyer.

Wheelchair & Medical Equipment Rental

If you need a wheelchair or scooter, you can rent and pre-order them from the provider below:

Bellevue Healthcare - +1-425-451-2842

Communication Stickers

Attendees can pick up communication stickers to add to their badges at the Registration Desk. Communication stickers indicate an attendee’s requested level of interaction for both other attendees and press (including photographers and videographers). Green = open to communicate; Yellow = only if you know me please; and Red = I’m not interested in communicating (or being videotaped or photographed) at this time.

Please be respectful of attendee communication preferences.

Non-Binary Restrooms

We will designate specific restrooms at the Meydenbauer Center as non-binary for attendees who feel more comfortable using those facilities.

First Aid/Medical Assistance

If you require first aid or medical assistance, please visit our Registration Desk in the Center Hall Foyer (first level of Meydenbauer Center). You may also contact the Bellevue Police Department at +1-425-452-6917 or go directly to Overlake Hospital Medical Center located at 1035 116th Ave. NE (0.6 miles from the Meydenbauer Center).

Contact Information/Harassment Reports

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of event staff immediately. Event staff can be identified by staff shirts/badges onsite and can be found at the event Registration Desk during event hours. Our staff has had incident response training and responds to harassment reports and does so in accordance with the process recommended by the Ada Initiative, which can be found here on the Geek Feminism Wiki.
