The Gran Via at Fira Barcelona is located in a new business development area close to Barcelona airport and connected to the public transport network. The venue is easily accessible for those traveling in just for the event or extending their adventure.
Please note that the event is taking place on the north end of the venue so access will be limited to the North Entrance at Hall 8.

Safety + Security
Your safety and security are important to us. Although Barcelona is considered safe for tourists, there can be pick-pockets and bag thieves in Barcelona areas with popular tourist attractions. Here are some travel tips on how to be aware of your surroundings, protect your valuables and yourself.
- Carry valuables close to you in a travel wallet or money belt. Avoid placing valuables in a back pocket or backpack. If you have a backpack, it is advised to wear it on your front.
- Spread your money and valuables out so if one stash is found you don’t lose everything. Keep valuables in a hotel or in-room safe. If you are in a hotel without an in-room safe, or you don’t feel that your valuables are protected enough in the in-room safe, all hotels can hold valuables in their safe at the front desk and we advise taking this step if you feel more secure.
- Make copies or take a photo of important documents – passport or other form of identification, car-rental voucher, itineraries, etc. – share with family or friends in case of loss.
- Be aware of your surroundings. Keep an eye on your personal belongings and use good judgement when talking to strangers. If you feel uncomfortable, leave the area and ask for help if needed.
- Be extra aware on beaches, in the metro, at bus stops, in hotel lobbies, when watching street shows, or near tourist attractions.
- Don’t leave bags, laptops, cell phones or the like unattended or out of view when in a public place. Always keep bags closed and on your lap at cafes/coffee bars.
- Keep your friends and family updated on your itinerary.
Current popular scams include (1) A group of pickpockets wherein one sprays mustard on the back of a tourist, and another comes to the ‘aid’ to help wipe it off, while a third picks pockets. (2) Street magicians will approach tables with tourists in public areas to perform magic tracks. While the tricks are taking place a pickpocket is making off with belongings.
Please keep all personal belongings in your possession during the conference. Do not ever leave belongings unattended. Neither Cloud Native Computing Foundation, the Linux Foundation nor Fira Barcelona are responsible for lost or stolen items. If something is misplaced, check in with an Event Staff member at the badge pickup desk.
If you need assistance, the CNCF event team is available to help participants contact hotel/venue security or local law enforcement. You can find Event Staff at the on-site badge pick-up or support desk in the North Entrance Foyer at Fira Gran Via or at the info desks throughout the event space.
