Virtual Event Update

KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2020 is now an online experience taking place November 17 – 20.

Hello Cloud Native Community!

We have some news – KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America is going online!

Connecting and collaborating is in the DNA of the open source cloud native community. With over 92,000 contributors to CNCF projects, 11 new sandbox projects, and 30 new members in Q2 (bringing membership to 570 organizations!), KubeCon + CloudNativeCon has been a key place to keep conversations going and continue building cloud native’s momentum. Although we can’t wait for the day we’ll be able to get together in-person, our virtual events are essential in educating and keeping our community thriving. 

Now where you live and your ability to travel is no longer a barrier to participating!

There are additional benefits to our virtual events as well. For example, you will be able to: 

  • Go to one online destination to build your knowledge – this includes tutorials and deep dives as well as high level and 101 content
  • Access all material when it is convenient for you
  • Connect with other attendees to consume content and engage with each other 
  • Learn from the maintainers and stay updated on project growth
  • Engage with community leaders and find out how to get more involved 
  • Meet sponsors and gain insights from industry experts, new products, and job opportunities 

Here are the next steps for now:

  • The CFP has been extended to July 12! Submit your talk now.
  • If you have a hotel reservation, you should cancel at this time.
  • If you have booked a flight, you should cancel at this time.  

Now more than ever, it’s important to keep the cloud native community connected! KubeCon + CloudNativeCon is the place we move mountains together. We won’t stop now! Watch for more details coming soon!

FAQ

When will registration open?
Registration will open in late summer 2020.

In what time zone will the event be held?
We are working on the logistics concerning time zones and general event format. We will share this information with you when it is confirmed.

What about the CFP, speakers, and sessions?
We have exciting news! We are extending the CFP! The deadline to submit a talk is Sunday, July 12 at 11:59pm PDT. 

With North America now virtual, we have extra time to give to you! Don’t let your time zone or geography stop you from submitting – take advantage of the event being virtual and submit your talk now! 

What can you tell us about the virtual platform?
The virtual platform will allow us to create an immersive experience for attendees, with educational sessions that offer speaker and attendee Q+A and interaction; attendee collaboration and networking through topical chat rooms, and 1:1 and group chats; sponsor and tech showcase where attendees can view demos, download resources, check out job openings, and speak directly with booth reps.

The diversity scholarship application will open in late July.

I am interested in hosting a Day Zero co-located event; what do I do?
We are in the process of confirming next steps for co-located events. Please keep an eye out for more details to come.
