Alexandra Geese has served as a Member of the European Parliament since 2019. She is the digital expert of the Greens/EFA group, a co-founder of the Eurostack iniative and a leading advocate for digital sovereignty. As a key negotiator of the Digital Services Act, she has shaped legislation that strengthens Europe’s ability to set its own rules for digital platforms and online spaces.

In Parliament, Alexandra Geese is a member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE, the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM) and the Special Committee on the European Democracy Shield (EUDS). She serves as a substitute member of the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) and as a full member of the US delegation.

Greg Kroah-Hartman is among a distinguished group of software developers who maintain Linux at the kernel level. In his role as a Linux Foundation Fellow, he continues his work as the maintainer for the Linux stable kernel branch and a variety of subsystems while working in a fully neutral environment. He also works closely with Linux Foundation members and projects, and on key initiatives to advance Linux.

Greg created and maintains the Linux Driver Project. He is also currently the maintainer for the Linux stable kernel branch and a variety of different subsystems that include USB, staging, driver core, tty, and sysfs, among others. Most recently, he was a Fellow at SUSE.

Greg is an adviser to Oregon State University’s Open Source Lab and a member of The Linux Foundation’s Technical Advisory Board. He has delivered a variety of keynote addresses at developer and industry events, and has authored two books covering Linux device drivers and Linux kernel development.

Gabriele is an open source technologist at heart. He spent over 15 years building developer ecosystems to deliver value through open source across Europe and the US. He thrives on driving innovation both contributing to open source communities and joining commercial open source ventures, whether it’s for an early stage tech startup, a Fortune 500 firm or a non profit foundation. He has recently won the Tech Leadership Award at FinTech Futures USA Banking Tech Awards.

As Executive Director Gabriele grew the Fintech Open Source Foundation (FINOS) from the ground up, with the vision of creating a trusted arena for the global financial services industry to innovate faster, leveraging open source as a model of collaboration. He then led FINOS to join the Linux Foundation umbrella to accelerate growth, ensure long term sustainability of efforts and reduce fragmentation in the Foundation’s ecosystem. In 2022, he took on a dual role as General Manager of the newly launched Linux Foundation Europe, which was created to foster regional open collaborations in the European continent and expand the global platform of the Linux Foundation.

Gabriele holds a Master in Computer Engineering, is a Committer for the Apache Software Foundation and advises open source startups. He’s a passionate soccer fan, reggae music connoisseur and special needs dad and advocate wannabe.

Christopher Robinson (aka CRob) is the Chief Security Architect for the Open Source Security Foundation. With over 25 years of Enterprise-class engineering, architectural, operational and leadership experience, CRob has worked at several Fortune 500 companies with experience in the Financial, Medical, Legal, and Manufacturing verticals, and spent 6 years helping lead the Red Hat Product Security team as their Program Architect.

Thierry Carrez is the General Manager of the Open Infrastructure Foundation. A systems engineer by trade, he was involved in the inception of the OpenStack project, and still contributes to its governance and release management.

With a personal interest in the intersection of sociology and technology, Thierry spoke about open innovation and open source at various conferences around the world, including OSCON, LinuxCon, and FOSDEM. He currently serves as Secretary and Director for the Open Source Initiative. He was recognized as a Python Software Foundation fellow in 2012, and previously worked as the Technical lead for Ubuntu Server at Canonical, an operational manager for the Gentoo Linux Security Team, and an IT manager in various companies.

 I contribute to the developer advocacy team by supporting the community in building AI models and applications. I help develop open-source learning communities and educational AI courses, including initiatives like the MCP Course and the LLM Course.

Jutta Horstmann is a computer scientist, entrepreneur and Open Source expert. As Co-CEO of Heinlein Group, she drives the strategic development of the company and its solutions that enable businesses and public institutions to achieve digital sovereignty, security and sustainability.

With more than 25 years of experience in the IT sector, Jutta has successfully founded and scaled companies and held leadership positions as CEO, CTO and COO. She most recently demonstrated her expertise in digital sovereignty as Managing Director of the German Centre for Digital Sovereignty (ZenDiS), where she oversaw the introduction of innovative open-source solutions in public administration. As a well-known keynote speaker, she shares her insights on digital transformation, leadership and Open Source technologies.

Astor Nummelin Carlberg is OpenForum Europe’s Policy Director, responsible for policy development and advocacy. He has extensive experience of European policy making processes, communications and network-building, and a keen interest in Europe’s digital challenges and potential.
