Sample Letter
Dear {Manager’s Name},
I’d like to attend the upcoming PX4 Developer Summit taking place June 23 & 24, in Austin, Texas. I’ve researched many conferences and found that this is the ONLY technical AND business conference on Open Source Drones — with content from the community for developers, and hardware engineers.
Nearly 400 talented individuals from across the ecosystem will gather to share learnings, highlight innovation, and discuss the future of open source drones — including PX4 Autopilot, MAVLink, MAVSDK, QGroundControl, and the Pixhawk Open Standards.
Here’s how I envision my attendance at PX4 Developer Summit strengthening our company:
- PX4 Developer Summit offers a variety of sessions, including presentations, hands-on tutorials, deep-dive technical lectures, and visionary keynotes from industry leaders. Attending these sessions will allow me to build my knowledge and learn from other community members on best practices, find out more on how Open Source is revolutionizing the Drone Industry, and learn how multiple Open Source and Open Standards Initiatives are all coming together.
- The infamous “hallway track” at PX4 Developer Summit will allow me to meet the top technical minds in the ecosystem. I hope to meet others that might face the same challenges and problems I do so that we can work together to solve technical issues now and in the future. Creating strategic partnerships at the event could be very useful in the future when we encounter new challenges.

If I register before May 15, the fee is only $500. Included in the registration fee is access to all keynotes and sessions, access to the sponsor showcase, hallway tracks and lounges, refreshments and snacks throughout the day and afternoon breaks. It also includes entrance to the evening events, including the onsite reception, and other networking events.
I would be happy to write a post-conference report detailing what I’ve learned and recommend any changes we can implement to improve our practices.
