The Linux Foundation Member Summit is the annual gathering for Linux Foundation member organizations.

An annual gathering for Linux Foundation members that fosters collaboration, innovation, and partnerships among the leading projects and organizations working to drive digital transformation with open source technologies. It is a must-attend for business and technical leaders looking to advance open source strategy, implementation, and investment in their organizations and learn how to collaboratively manage the largest shared technology investment of our time.

  • Jim Zemlin headshot

    Jim’s career spans three of the largest technology trends to rise over the last decade: mobile computing, cloud computing and open source software. Today, as executive director of The Linux Foundation, he uses this experience to accelerate innovation in technology through the use of open source and Linux.

    At The Linux Foundation, Jim works with the world’s largest technology companies, including IBM, Intel, Google, Samsung, Qualcomm, and others to help define the future of computing on the server, in the cloud, and on a variety of new mobile computing devices. His work at the vendor-neutral Linux Foundation gives him a unique and aggregate perspective on the global technology industry.

    Jim has been recognized for his insights on the changing economics of the technology industry. His writing has appeared in Businessweek, Wired, and other top technology journals, and he is a regular keynote speaker at industry events. He advises a variety of startups, including Splashtop, and sits on the boards of the Global Economic Symposium, Open Source For America, and Chinese Open Source Promotion Union.

  • Erica Brescia headshot

    Erica Brescia joined Redpoint Ventures as a managing director in 2022, where she leads investments in infrastructure, AI, developer tools and security. She currently serves on the boards of Dagger, Railway, Xata, Zed and Poolside and has led other unannounced infrastructure investments. Prior to Redpoint, Erica was the COO of GitHub. Prior to GitHub, Erica was the co-founder and COO of Bitnami, an open source application packaging and deployment company, which was acquired by VMware. She was also co-founder and CEO of BitRock, which developed software packaging technology. Erica has been a leader in the open source community for over 15 years and has served on the board of the Linux Foundation since 2016. She lives in Walnut Creek, CA with her husband, son and their hilarious lab-chihuahua mix.

  • Beyang Liu headshot

    Beyang Liu is CTO and co-founder of Sourcegraph, the maker of code search and Cody, the code AI that knows the context of your codebase. Sourcegraph enables millions of developers to build quickly and robustly, even in large codebases such as open source projects like Kubernetes and Fortune 500 enterprises.

    Prior to Sourcegraph, Beyang built large-scale data analysis tools at Palantir and studied machine learning and compilers at Stanford. He believes in combining the Chomsky and Norvig schools of intelligence to build dev tools that democratize software creation.

  • Mark Russinovich headshot

    Mark Russinovich is Chief Technology Officer and Technical Fellow for Microsoft Azure, Microsoft’s global enterprise-grade cloud platform. A widely recognized expert in distributed systems, operating systems and cybersecurity, Mark earned a Ph.D. in computer engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. He later co-founded Winternals Software, joining Microsoft in 2006 when the company was acquired. Mark is a popular speaker at industry conferences such as Microsoft Ignite, Microsoft Build, and RSA Conference. He has authored several nonfiction and fiction books, including the Microsoft Press Windows Internals book series, Troubleshooting with the Sysinternals Tools, as well as fictional cyber security thrillers Zero Day, Trojan Horse and Rogue Code.

    Bryan Che is Chief Strategy Officer at Huawei. There, he leads Huawei’s vision and strategy across its overall businesses and portfolio, which spans mobile and consumer electronics, telecommunications, and cloud and AI.

    Bryan has tremendous experience building new enterprise businesses and open source technologies. In the open source community, Bryan serves as a board director across various key organizations, including Cloud Native Computing
    Foundation (CNCF), Open 3D Foundation (O3DE), and Eclipse Foundation. As an American expat employed in China who has traveled more than 3 million miles to over 40 countries, Bryan has worked extensively with many customers and partners around the world.

    Bryan graduated with his Bachelor and Masters degrees in computer science from MIT.

  • Snehal Antani headshot

    Snehal Antani is CEO & Co-founder of Horizon3.ai, a cyber security company pioneering the use of AI to deliver autonomous penetration testing. 

    Prior to Horizon3, Snehal served as the first Chief Technology Officer for Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC). As a member of the Commander’s executive team, he led data analytics, cloud/edge computing, and cybersecurity initiatives

    Prior to serving within US Special Operations, Snehal was CTO & SVP at Splunk, held multiple CIO roles at GE Capital, and started his career as a Software Engineer at IBM. 

    Snehal earned a Masters in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic University (RPI), a BS in Computer Science from Purdue University where he was their 2023 Distinguished Alumni, and holds 18 patents.

  • Tarah Wheeler headshot

    Once named the top female cybersecurity influencer in the world, Wheeler is also the author of Women in Tech: Take Your Career to The Next Level with Practical Advice and Inspiring Stories, which details her experience in the male-dominated space of cybersecurity. It was a #1 Amazon career guide bestseller, and topped both the women in business and technology nonfiction lists. In addition to her technical know-how, she can expertly advise on how to improve the industry to include, support, and uplift women based on her own personal experience.

    A global leader in keeping private citizens and corporations safe from cyber attacks, Wheeler is an International Security Fellow at New America; a Belfer Cybersecurity Fellow at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government; a contributing cybersecurity expert for The Washington Post; and a Foreign Policy contributor on cyber warfare. She was selected for the prestigious Fulbright Cyber Security Scholar Award; she conducted research at Oxford University, in conjunction with the UK National Health Service, on mitigating the harms civilians face in nation-state sponsored cyberattacks. In 2022, she became a a senior fellow for global cyber policy at the Council on Foreign Relations.

    Wheeler is an advisory board member for the Electronic Frontier Foundation and a board of directors member at several cybersecurity companies. She has also led projects at Microsoft Game Studios, including the iconic video game franchise Halo. She holds an MSc from Portland State University, and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a Certified Scrum Master (CSM), and a Certified Scrum Developer (CSD). She is also a pre-candidate for a PhD in Complex Systems and Political Science from the University of Michigan and a National Science Foundation Fellow. A Texas holdem poker player, she acquired her startup funds by cleaning out poker rooms in the Northwest and Las Vegas.

    Jonathan Corbet is the kernel documentation maintainer, co-founder of LWN.net, a member of the Linux Foundation’s Technical Advisory Board, and the lead author of Linux Device Drivers, Third Edition.  He lives in Boulder, Colorado, USA.

  • Katharina Koerner headshot

    Katharina Koerner is a multifaceted professional, bringing together a rich blend of skills encompassing senior management, legal acumen, and technical proficiency. With a decade of service in the Austrian public sector, including roles at the Ministry for the Interior and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, where she excelled as a legal program manager, Katharina has demonstrated her ability to navigate between various domains. Based in Silicon Valley since 2020, she has focused her career on tech policy, privacy, security, AI regulation, and the operationalization of trustworthy AI. Katharina is actively engaged with the Tech Diplomacy Network in Silicon Valley, founded to promote collaboration and dialogue between diplomats, civil society, and the tech industry. Her academic achievements include a PhD in EU Law, a JD in Law, and several certifications in information security, privacy, privacy engineering, and machine learning. Katharina has made significant contributions to the International Association for Privacy Professionals (IAPP) as a Principal Researcher – Technology, conducting research in areas such as privacy engineering, technology regulation, and AI research. Renowned for her capacity to bridge policy, legal intricacies, and technology, she is dedicated to driving positive change and fostering meaningful connections between individuals and innovative ideas. One of her recent initiatives is the establishment of the AI Education Network, a venture with the goal to equip K-12 students with a comprehensive understanding of AI, empowering them to actively engage in discussions concerning the opportunities and challenges posed by AI.

    David Nalley has been involved in open source for nearly two decades. He is the director of open source strategy and marketing at AWS and currently serves as the President of the Apache Software Foundation and serves on the Board of Directors for the Internet Security Research Group.
