CNCF is committed to sustainability at our events, including KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2023.

We do our best to balance sustainability with various rules and regulations (especially where food service is concerned) in the cities and countries in which we host our events. See below for ways we are partnering with our vendors and community to create more sustainable events and minimize environmental impacts.

Conference lanyards are made from 100% recycled materials.
Careful planning for attendee numbers based on historical data to minimize waste from the start.
100% of the electricity used by McCormick Place is offset by the purchase of renewable energy credits.

All food and beverage disposable service ware is compostable.
Partnerships with food charities to reduce wasted food when possible.
