Peter Smulovics joined Morgan Stanley after more than a decade at Microsoft, where he participated in creating .NET, C# and Azure, enhancing Visual Studio, SQL Server, Dynamics, HoloLens and more – being a seasoned expert of Microsoft technologies, he is leading now Windows and .NET Development Practices in the Software Development Experience organization. He splits his focus between server side (opinionated abstraction platforms) and client side (hybrid open source desktop how for .NET/Web UI) development, but also focuses on .NET Build tooling, Framework maintenance and more.
He is a publicist for IDG and The Architecture Journal, author and co-author of several books and a returning presenter on TechEx, DevDays, TechReady, Agile DevCon, TechNet, Meta, EY, VRARA, FINRA and many other conferences. He is a founding member of AgileAlliance, Architecture Forum, Architect Academy and .NET Forum, tech lead on several OSS projects like Hibernate, Velocity and several other open-source projects. HE is Microsoft, Ariba, JBoss and SiteCore certified and trainer on several technologies. Peter has also made a name for himself across the industry, being named a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional and a finance industry FINOS Ambassador at The Linux Foundation. At FINOS he also co-chairs two special interest groups, Open Source Readiness and Emerging Technologies (involved with Quantum Technology, Spatial Computing, Space Tech, 4D printing and more), and is a vice-chair for the Technical Oversight Committee.
Working in IT since 1995, Peter has project experience in different fields (FMCG, public, energy, telecom, pharma, mobile, music, security, finance); also he is active in many organizations and is a renaissance man (involved with innovation, enabling people, cloud, mentoring, podcast producing and more) and the main organizer for the FSI Autism Hackathon.
