Andrew Aitken is a veteran in the open-source sector, having served as an open-source adviser to the White House, guest lecturer for Stanford’s Entrepreneur Program and founder of the industry’s only open-source think tank, and acts as the Chief Open Source Officer of Hedera. Most recently, Andrew was the global open-source leader at Wipro Technologies, championing open-source adoption for enterprises and delivering business value through open-source services and solutions. Aitken is an elected member of the Board of the Fintech Open Source Foundation (FINOS) and previously served as Wipro Board Adviser at the Open Source Security Foundation and the Linux Foundation Networking project. He was also on the board of OSEHRA, a non-profit dedicated to accelerating open-source health reporting. Andrew helped many of the industry’s leading OEMs and ISVs develop their open-source strategies along with numerous startups and enterprises.

Emily Kei Kei Cheung is a software engineer and one of the APAC tech leads in UBS.

  She has been developing software for 16 years, from UK to Hong Kong, from gaming to financial institutes (banks and crypto).

Emily is a passionate cultural influencer in collaboration & innovation – both opensource and inner-source.She is one of the members in UBS Open Source Program Office and developing one of the FINOS projects – Vuu.

Gabriele is an open source executive and technologist at heart. He spent over 15 years building developer ecosystems to deliver value through open source across Europe and the US. He thrives on driving innovation both contributing to open source communities and joining commercial open source ventures, whether it’s for an early-stage tech startup, a Fortune 500 firm, or a non-profit foundation. Previously Director of Product Management at Alfresco, as Executive Director Gabriele grew the Fintech Open Source Foundation FINOS from the ground up, with the vision of creating a trusted arena for the global financial services industry to innovate faster, leveraging open source as a model of collaboration. Gabriele holds a Master in Computer Engineering, is a Committer for the Apache Software Foundation, and advises open source startups. He’s a passionate soccer fan, reggae music connoisseur, and special needs dad and advocate wannabe.

As CIO for the Infrastructure platform, Madeleine leads our technology efforts globally across portfolio implementation, trading, operations, data, regulatory, finance, and HR. Madeleine is chair of the Technology Strategy Board and the Infrastructure Platform Technology Council, the vice-chair of the Cross-Platform Technology Council, and a member of the Americas Compensation Committee. Madeleine is Vice Chair of the Fintech Open Source Foundation (FINOS) board, which provides technology solutions through standards and code sharing for common industry challenges.

Before joining Wellington Management in February 2006, Madeleine worked at Goldman Sachs in New York, managing the NYSE and Listed Trading Systems. Prior to Goldman Sachs, she was a manager at Accenture in the Financial Markets practice. Madeleine moved to the US from her native France to attend Columbia College, where she earned a BA in mathematics. Her bilingual education at an international school in France enabled her to develop fluency in both English and French. Madeleine serves as a treasurer on the Boston City Singers board.

Cara Delia is the Sr Principal Community Architect with responsibility for spearheading initiatives in financial services related open source software communities to grow Red Hat’s presence.Additionally, advocate for open source principles and assist Red Hat’s customers in those upstream communities to contribute. 

Cara has over 15 years in marketing and community engagement with the primary focus being in the financial services industry. Cara holds a B.S. in Political Science from Virginia Polytechnic & State University.

I am the CTO of Scott Logic, a growing UK-based software consultancy that tackles challenging software problem. I’m a keen open source advocate, and a frequent personal contributor. I am a board member of FINOS, and chair both the Technical Oversight Committee and the newly-formed AI Readiness Special Interest Group. I’ve also written numerous industry reports in collaboration with Linux Foundation Research.

Prachi Kasodhan is a Data/AI and Digital Transformation Leader with over twenty years of experience across several aspects of the software business, from software development & engineering, enterprise program & portfolio management, data governance & digital transformation. At Microsoft, she leads global strategy and execution for one of the largest G-SIFISs (Global Systemically Important Financial Institutions) in the world. Prachi comes to Microsoft from Morgan Stanley, where in the last 8 years she has held several leadership roles within strategic portfolio execution & governance, end user technology adoption, robotic process automation and most recently as a data governance & sensitive data security leader. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Prachi spent close to 11 years at UBS in various technology leadership roles across the Investment Banking Division, Operations and Equities technology. Prachi is a passionate DEI advocate who believes inclusive, accessible STEM participation and harnessing the power of knowledge to uplift many.

Leo (Laurent-Olivier) Labeis is the Founder & Chief Executive Officer of REGnosys.

With 20 years’ experience in delivering innovation to global markets businesses, Leo’s core expertise is in the transformational impact of technology and regulation across the financial sector.

REGnosys is the leading collaboration platform for regulatory reporting. It allows regulated financial institutions to slash their risk and cost of reporting by coding together a single interpretation of the rules. REGnosys’ award-winning low-code platform, Rosetta, is trusted by global financial institutions, standard-setting bodies and regulators to deliver the industry’s Digital Regulatory Reporting (DRR) programme: an open-source, standardised and machine-executable expression of the rules.

Prior to founding REGnosys in 2016, Leo was the Global Markets head of MiFID II implementation at Goldman Sachs. Leo joined Goldman Sachs in 2003 as a Trading Strat for Fixed-Income, Currencies and Commodities and was named Managing Director in 2010.

Leo graduated from Ecole Polytechnique in 2001 and holds two MSc. from Ponts & Chaussées and UPMC Paris VI with majors in Applied Mathematics and Electrical Engineering.

Duncan is a Senior Investment Manager on the Alternatives team at abrdn. He is responsible for the development of abrdn’s digital asset strategy and represents abrdn on the HederaHashgraph governing council. Duncan also leads abrdn’s systematic hedge fund offerings and has previously invested in a range of hedge fund strategies. Duncan graduated with a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Strathclyde and is a CFA and CAIA charterholder.

Ted is Head of Cloud Services at NatWest Group, Edinburgh, where he relocated from Naperville, Illinois. Ted is an experienced engineering executive who is accountable for NatWest’s cloud hosting capability. Ted’s enterprise works directly with internal customers and industry partners to develop leading-edge cloud hosting solutions that enable NatWest application teams to engage the cloud easily. Ted’s goal is a frictionless application flow for safe, secure, and compliant banking software.

Declan O’Gorman leads Enterprise Engineering for Natwest Group Bank, enabling tens of millions of customers to engage with their financial needs in a safe and secure manner using modern platforms, patterns and approaches. He oversees the banks Engineering & Devops practice as well as leading talent approaches seeking new ways to diversify, upskill and excite people about roles in technology. He is a hands on technologist with a long record of software development and delivery experience in the financial sector solving critical business problems.

Kim joined BMO in August 2021 from RBC where she was the Global Head of the Client, Banking & Digital Channels Technology group across Capital Markets. Kim developed and implemented a comprehensive client data strategy adopted by Capital Markets, sunset legacy applications and united the global salesforce under a single CRM instance. Collecting and connecting client touchpoints with external data sets allowed her team to proactively source opportunities and recommendations using advanced AI and machine learning to deepen client relationships and increase wallet share. Kim held multiple roles at RBC over 15 years supporting the business in various capacities from running Global Fixed Income Production Services to Head of Fixed Income Sales and Credit Trading technology.

Prior to joining RBC, Kim ran Front Office technology at Mizuho as well as the API Connectivity Development team at ICAP and was part of the initial launch of BrokerTec. She has also held multiple positions across the street with Kidder Peabody, Deutsche Bank and Chase Securities. Kim received a BA from Stockton University in accounting.

As part of the Data and Analytics Leadership team at LSEG, Emily leads the Analytics business and is the CEO of Yield Book. In this role Emily spearheads the transformation of trusted data into actionable and AI-powered insights across LSEG. With a background of over 15 years in quantitative financial analytics at leading institutions such as Lehman Brothers, Barclays and BlackRock, Emily has extensive experience developing analytics solutions for customers. Emily also holds board positions with Turquoise and Finbourne.

Lee-Ann drives the Enterprise Engineering Business Management, Risk and Transformation team within NatWest. She has a rich background in finance, risk, workforce and technology transformation which has given her the opportunity to spearhead change, support technical reskilling / career switching and drive an inclusive, progressive and cohesive culture. 

Lee-Ann is focused on using her platform as a senior leader within Technology to sponsor and support women in their careers. She sits on the Bank’s Gender Network Committee, mentors others through the Women in Banking & Finance network and is a member of the FINOS DE&I community.

Truman Semans is Acting Executive Director of LF Climate Finance and Chief Executive of OS-Climate, a breakthrough Open Source solution for climate-smart investing. Using the proven Linux Foundation approach for community-driven projects to solve complex challenges, LF Climate Finance is developing the non-profit OS-Climate data and modeling platform that enables investment decisionmakers to run scenario-based predictive analysis for accurately forecasting and pricing risk and opportunity related to physical climate impacts and economic transition. Responding to the universal call for more rigorous, transparent, and affordable corporate climate data , OS-C’s Data Commons will provide company metrics as a public good.
Previously, Truman was CEO of Element Capital Advisors, helping family offices and foundations integrate ESG into their portfolios. He was a Partner of strategy consultancy GreenOrder, helping clients including private equity firms, Morgan Stanley, Google, GM, GE, Duke Energy, SABIC, and DuPont drive growth and profitability through investments in environmental innovation, resource efficiency, and clean technology. Truman led the Pew Business Environmental Leadership Council and co-founded the U.S. Climate Action Partnership (USCAP) and the U.S. Partnership for Renewable Energy Finance (USPREF). He consulted with McKinsey & Co., served as the U.S. Treasury Department International Economist for global environment, and was the financial mechanisms lead on the U.S. Climate Change Negotiating Team.

He has an MBA and BA from Duke University and a Masters in International Economics from Johns Hopkins SAIS. He serves on the Investment Committee of the National Wildlife Federation and the Advisory Board of Coast Capital, LLC.

Jason has over 20 years of experience in starting, growing, and managing data & tech businesses. His focus at Publicis Groupe is on decision intelligence using AI. Prior to joining Publicis, Jason worked with two start-ups, one developing one of the first AI governance platforms the other verifiable credential & token technology infrastructure.

He has worked at the corporate level, leading a global data innovation team focusing on privacy, data sharing, consent & privacy-enhancing technology. He has also co-founded data technology start-ups and data research labs, the former being a social media data intelligence software using AI natural language processing for sentiment and emotional analysis and topic clustering, and the latter, a research data lab as part of ScaleUpNation, in Amsterdam, using machine learning & network science to research ‘what lies behind a successful scale-up’.

Jason has written, presented, and produced 3 radio documentaries for BBC on technology (‘Being Social’ on social media & data; ‘Becoming Artificial’ on AI & what it means for humans and ‘Going Viral’ on the use of technology during the first Covid lockdown). Jason is a regular speaker on AI, particularly Generative AI.

Michael Tiemann is an American software developer and executive. He served as vice president of open source affairs at Red Hat, Inc., and was the former President of the Open Source Initiative. He co-founded Cygnus Solutions in 1989. His contributions to free software include the GNU C++ compiler, the GNU C compiler, and the GNU Debugger. He was also the chief technical officer of Red Hat, and has recently taken the lead of OS-Climate project in Linux Foundation.

Ashley Ward is the CTO of ControlPlane, where he leverages his extensive technical background and leadership experience to drive the company’s values and goals. Ashley’s career spans various verticals, from financial services to media, and includes roles in companies of all sizes. His past positions include leading a startup in EMEA, serving as part of the Office of the CTO for Palo Alto Networks, and holding the title of Group CTO for a multinational distributor.
