  • Brian Behlendorf was a primary developer of the Apache Web server, the most popular web server software on the Internet, and a founding member of the Apache Software Foundation. He has also served on the board of the Mozilla Foundation since 2003 and the Electronic Frontier Foundation since 2013. He was the founding CTO of CollabNet and CTO of the World Economic Forum. Most recently, Behlendorf was a managing director at Mithril Capital Management LLC, a global technology investment firm.

  • David Mark Clements is a Principal Architect, technical author, public speaker and OSS creator specializing in Node.js and browser JavaScript.

    David has been writing JavaScript since 1996 and has been working with, speaking and writing about Node.js since Node 0.4 (2011). He is the author of various open source projects. Of note among them is Pino, the fastest Node.js JSON logger available and 0x, a powerful profiling tool for Node.js.

    David is the author of the first three editions of Node Cookbook, the technical lead and primary author of the official OpenJS Node.js Application Developer Certification (JSNAD) and OpenJS Node.js Services Developer Certification (JSNSD). He is also the author of the Node.js Application Development (LFW211) and Node.js Services Development (LFW212) courses plus a freely available course, Introduction to Node.js (https://www.edx.org/course/introduction-to-nodejs-2).

  • Matteo is Chief Software Architect at NearForm, where he consults for some of the top brands in the world. In 2014, he defended his Ph.D. thesis titled “Application Platforms for the Internet of Things”. Matteo is a member of the Node.js Technical Steering Committee focusing on streams, diagnostics and http. He is also the author of the fast logger Pino and of the Fastify web framework. Matteo is a renowned international speaker after presenting at more than 60 conferences, including Node.js Interactive, NodeConf.eu, NodeSummit, JSConf.Asia, WebRebels, and JsDay just to name a few. Modules that Matteo maintains are downloaded 60+ billion times per year, making him one of the most downloaded authors on npm. He is also co-author of the book “Node.js Cookbook, Third Edition” edited by Packt. In the summer he loves sailing the Sirocco.

  • Jonathan has been making things out of code as long as he can remember. Jonathan is the architect and project lead for Appium, the popular open source automation framework, and the creator of Appium Pro, bringing fresh mobile testing tips to the world every week. He works for HeadSpin, the global app UX testing platform, as Director of Learning and Education Programs, making high-quality test automation training available to everyone via HeadSpin University. Previously, Jonathan was the Founding Principal of Cloud Grey, and the Director of Open Source at Sauce Labs. He has worked as a programmer in tech startups for 20 years, but is also passionate about many other topics. Jonathan has master’s degrees in philosophy and linguistics, from Stanford and Oxford respectively. He lives in Vancouver and enjoys writing music, penning essays on the philosophy of technology, and getting outside for a run even if it’s raining.

  • Nick is the CTO and Founder of FlowForge Inc, where he is leading the OpenJS Node-RED project and building a low-code development platform. Before starting FlowForge, he was at IBM for over 19 years working across a wide range of technologies. He spends his time playing with IoT technologies, having worked on projects ranging from smart meter energy monitoring to retrofitting sensors to industrial manufacturing lines with Raspberry Pis and Arduinos. With a background in pervasive messaging, he is a contributor to the Eclipse Paho project and sits on the OASIS MQTT Technical Committee and on the OpenJS Cross Project Council.

  • Nathan Walker has enjoyed the opportunity to work in the web/mobile app development industry for over 15 years now. Spending several years working across multiple industries helped establish a focused sensibility with client needs. A cofounder of nStudio and an active member of the NativeScript Technical Steering Committee with a passion for open source.
