Meet the Committees

Megan is the Director of Software Communities at Arm where she focuses on upstream engagement with open source projects and ecosystem strategy. She currently serves in various leadership capacities with The Yocto Project, UXL Foundation, and Zephyr Project. In her previous role at Amazon Web Services, she led the IoT and Automotive open source portfolio and served as the Amazon representative on critical dependency open source project boards. She’s been kicking it in the open source world for over a decade, driven by people coming together to solve industry-wide problems and the never-ending quest of finding (and sampling) the world’s most delicious baked goods.

Rajko Radovanovic is an investing partner on the infrastructure team at Andreessen Horowitz.

Joseph Spisak is the Director of Product Management for AI at Meta. A veteran of the AI space with over 10 years experience, Joe led product teams at Meta/Facebook, Google and Amazon where he focused on open source AI, open science and building developer tools such as PyTorch to help the community scale up AI in an open and collaborative way. As the leader of product for PyTorch, he and the team built an amazing platform and community that made PyTorch the leading open source AI development framework in the industry and took it to the Linux Foundation. Joe is also an angel and advisor to companies like Anthropic, Lastmile.AI (former FB), EvolutionaryScale (former FB), Udacity, Lightning.AI, and others.

Ion Stoica is a Professor in the EECS Department at the University of California at Berkeley, and the Director of Sky Computing Lab (https://sky.cs.berkeley.edu/). He is currently doing research on cloud computing and AI systems. Past work includes Ray, Apache Spark, Apache Mesos, Tachyon, Chord DHT, and Dynamic Packet State (DPS). He is an Honorary Member of the Romanian Academy, an ACM Fellow and has received numerous awards, including the Mark Weiser Award (2019), SIGOPS Hall of Fame Award (2015), and several “Test of Time” awards. He also co-founded three companies, Anyscale (2019), Databricks (2013) and Conviva (2006).

Scott Suchyta is a senior Partner Product Manager at NVIDIA. He collaborates with open-source foundations, projects, and partners to ensure that developers can accelerate PyTorch (NVIDIA) in every cloud and with every model. This speeds up inference and tuning for tasks like modeling weather, discovering new medicines, and promoting sustainability in AI. With a strong background in high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI), Scott has consistently shown his expertise and commitment to excellence. Scott’s collaborative spirit and innovative approach have made him a valuable asset to his teams. In his free time, he enjoys exploring new technologies and staying updated with industry trends. Scott’s passion for continuous learning and growth drives his success both personally and professionally.

Matt White is the Executive Director of the PyTorch Foundation and GM of AI at the Linux Foundation. He is also the Director of the Generative AI Commons, an open community initiative focused on advancing responsible generative AI under the LF AI & Data Foundation. Matt has nearly 30 years of experience in applied research and standards in AI and data in telecom, media and gaming industries. He began his career programming expert systems in the telecom industry and since 2012 has been focused on machine learning and research at the intersection of AI, simulations and multi-sensory learning. Matt is the Co-founder and Chair of the Open Metaverse Foundation at the Linux Foundation. He is also a Chair at the Metaverse Standards Forum and runs the Silicon Valley Generative AI paper reading group and is a co-organizer at the GenAI Collective.

Shauheen Zahirazami has a PhD in control engineering and BSc in applied mathematics. He is currently leading Cloud TPU Machine Learning teams at Google who are responsible for ML Frameworks and 3P ecosystem including the PyTorch teams that develop PyTorch/XLA.

Jeff Daily, AMD Fellow, is the chief architect of the Machine Learning Software Engineering group supporting ML frameworks such as PyTorch and onnxruntime on AMD GPUs. He enjoys delivering open source software to answer the challenges of the rapidly-changing ML landscape. For over five years, he has contributed to the PyTorch core as well as its extension libraries. His sustained contributions earned him the first ever Linux Foundation PyTorchbearer Award “for excellence in long-term contributions across all PyTorch modalities.” Though he has not achieved the status of maintainer, Jeff is a trusted contributor. Jeff’s technical leadership is one of the reasons PyTorch runs out of the box without any code modifications on AMD GPUs. In addition to PyTorch technical contributions, Jeff is the AMD representative for the PyTorch Foundation’s Technical Advisory Committee.

Alban has been working on PyTorch since nearly its inception, first during his PhD at the University of Oxford and now at Meta. He is focused on maintaining core components, designing a wide breadth of features and fostering the PyTorch Community.

Mike started contributing to PyTorch in 2018 and led the addition of over 100 operators to the framework, including the operators in the linalg, fft, and special modules. He currently works on accelerating PyTorch programs with deep learning compilers.
