We know what it feels like to attend a conference for the first time, and we want to help make that experience a little easier for our first-time attendees. Meet other newcomers, as well as Open Source Summit Europe veterans, at this informal breakfast. In addition, pick up invaluable tips and tricks on how to best navigate the event.

River Liffey Boat Tour

Embark on a historic journey which echoes through Dublin City’s maritime past and present. A friendly welcome awaits with passionate local guides leading visitors along the gateway of Dublin City, “The River Liffey”. The journey begins at the impressive MV Cill Airne just outside the Convention Centre in the heart of Dublin’s City Docklands. Hear fascinating tales of tall ships, historical families, pirates, and treasure filled ships.

5K Fun “Run”

Thursday, 15 September | 6:45 AM Meet-Up | Run from 7:00 – 8:00 AM | The Convention Centre Dublin Entrance

Don’t forget to pack your running gear because the Fun “Run” is on! This activity is great for all fitness levels as there will be (3) pace groups: walking, jogging, and a running group.

Our local guides will take you past some of Dublin’s most famous landmarks including the Custom House, O’Connells, and the Halpenny bridges. We’ll head into the heart of Temple Bar to see cobblestone streets and the unique local pubs before passing through the grounds of Dublin Castle and St Patrick’s Cathedral to the front square of Trinity College. You’ll hear tales and secrets about these memorable buildings as we take it all in on foot.

There is no cost to participate and space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Dublin Morning Tea Bus Tour

Friday, 16 September | Meet at 6:45am | Activity from 7:00 – 8:30am | The Convention Centre Dublin Entrance

Take a step back in time with Vintage Tea Trips and experience Dublin in a unique way. Indulge in a few morning tea treats, have some great conversation and tap your feet along to some fabulous 1950s jazz while taking in the sights of the city. We’ll see the sights aboard a vintage Routemaster bus, or as they are called, a biscuit tin on wheels. Join us as we experience morning tea the Irish way!
